Students will be housed in a fully-furnished corporate apartment at Oakwood Marina del Rey.

  • What is not included in my apartment?
    • Long distance telephone charges (anything outside of an 8 mile radius).
    • Premium Cable channels, pay-per-view movies.
    • Any damages to the apartment and furniture will be charged to your personal credit card.
  • Where will my apartment be located within the community?
    • Oakwood strives to place Quinnipiac’s apartments as close to one another as possible. Placements are based on which apartments are available at the time of move-in. While Oakwood will do its best to accommodate location requests, they cannot be guaranteed.
  • Why do I have to provide a credit card if Quinnipiac is paying for the apartments?
    • A credit card is required to cover any incidentals or damages incurred during the stay. This includes, but is not limited to, costs for repairing damages caused by you or your guests, except for normal wear and tear. Students will be liable for payment of lost keys, access cards, and parking permits if applicable. Charges will also be incurred for these items if these items are not returned at the time of departure.
  • When will I know my apartment address?
    • Each apartment at Oakwood has a dedicated address and respective mailbox. Oakwood typically assigns apartment numbers 1-3 days prior to move-in. If apartment numbers are available any sooner than that, we will let Quinnipiac University know so that they can share the address with you.
  • How do I send packages and mail to myself prior to my arrival?
    • If you do not have your apartment address yet, you can mail packages and mail to yourself as follows:

  • Are smoking apartments available?
    • Oakwood does not restrict smoking at Marina del Rey. However, as a courtesy Oakwood recommends you check with your school and roommates before smoking inside your apartment.
  • May I bring a pet?
    • Oakwood does allow non-breed restricted pets at an additional cost. Approval to bring a pet must come from Quinnipiac University. Students are financially responsible for non-refundable pet deposits, pet rent, cleaning fees, and damages.
  • What if I want to arrive earlier or stay later than the Quinnipiac policy allows?
    • Arrive earlier: Short-term stays of as few as three- to five-nights (depending on time of year) are available for students and/or parents arriving before Quinnipiac’s move-in day. Please coordinate any early arrivals or late departures through your Oakwood representative.
    • Stay later: If the apartment is available after Quinnipiac’s lease with Oakwood is up, you are allowed to extend your stay for as long as you like at your own expense. You will be responsible for the rent for days stayed outside of the Quinnipiac University lease agreement. You will need to pass a credit and criminal background check. You will receive the Quinnipiac discounted rate.
  • Will I have a parking space?
    • Parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis throughout the community.
  • Who do I contact if I have a problem?
    • Call the Oakwood office at 310.751.4545. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week, closed on Holidays.
  • Whom do I contact for maintenance emergencies?
    • Call the Oakwood office at 310.751.4545. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., 7 days a week, closed on Holidays. After-hours and weekend phone calls transfer to our on-call service. Emergencies will be handled as soon as possible. Emergencies include flood, no heat or A/C, plugged toilet in an apartment with one toilet, nonworking refrigerator. FOR POLICE OR FIRE, DIAL 911.
  • What do I do with my garbage?
    • Trash chutes are located near the elevator lobby of buildings A, D, G, N, R, as well as in L and S buildings and are accessible on every floor.
  • Where is my mailbox?
    • Mailboxes are located on the first floor of buildings A, C, E, H, L, P, R, and S.
  • Where is the pool/fitness/business center located?
    • o There is a swimming pool, and spa located behind the clubhouse. Pool hours are 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. There is a fitness center, business center, billiards room and massage therapist located on the 3rd floor of the clubhouse. Use access card issued at move-in to gain access. Open 7 a.m. – midnight.
  • Where are the laundry facilities?
    • Laundry facilities are located on the first floor of buildings A, D, G, K, M, N, R, and S. A dry cleaners is located on the left side entry of the parking garage behind the pool area.
  • How much does laundry cost?
    • Laundry machines charge $1.75 / wash cycle and $1.50 / dryer cycle. The laundry card costs $5.00 to purchase. Laundry cards can be purchased in the Convenience Store using case or in the Business Center using a credit card. You can continue to add value to this card after it is purchased.
